The 100th satellite for ISRO was launched on January 12, 2018.
ISRO’s launching of the PSLV-C40 is an important milestone in India’s space journey. The rocket carried ISRO’s 100th satellite among the 31 satellites put into orbit. The rocket’s primary payload was the Cartosat-2, which will be used to get images to develop land and geographical information systems. Though there were 31 satellites on the PSLV, two satellites which stole the show were the nanosatellite and the microsatellite. With this launch, India hopes to take a big step towards more compact and efficient satellites.
